Now we are exploring Library Thing. I'm trying to be good and not spend forever checking out a new tool. Usually I get lost setting it up for me. This time I tried more for an overview and a bit of playing.
I'm really liking Library Thing. I will use it as a reading log to record things that I have read. And I should be able to use it to create a list of things I want to read. (If I can just remember how...) I have never been able to successfully keep a reading log. I always go great guns for about a month. Then I forget about it and nothing gets entered and I can't remember what I read or if I liked it. But this is fairly painless. I can add a title quickly and slap in a few comments.
Keeping a reading log is a great way to improve your Readers' Advisory abilities. How many times have you gone to suggest a book that you just read to a customer and BAM! (just like Emeril) you can't remember the title, the author, or anything about it. But you know your customer would love this book. If you keep a reading log, it's simple to look back and suggest something from the list. Otherwise you waste time trying to dredge up just what that book was that you read recently.
My next step with Library Thing is asking Jenn how she ended up using the tags to keep her books in order by number in the series. I remember 8 needed to be 08, but beyond that, things are cool!
Pary on!
